Connecting Lifecycle Insights and Phin Integration Guide
The guide details how to integrate Phin Security Awareness Training data into Lifecycle Insights by enabling Lifecycle Insights as an integration partner in Phin, generating and copying API credentials, registering these credentials in Lifecycle Insights, and then matching companies to sync and display Phin data within various Lifecycle Insights reports and dashboards.
Phin Integration with Lifecycle Insights
If you want to communicate Security Awareness Training results or status in your Business Review Meeting, Lifecycle Insights (LCI) now allows you to include Phin data in several reports within the platform.
You can view Phin data in:
- The User List
- More Reports: Click the Phin Reports tile for a complete Phin report.
- Report Builder: A new component allows you to bring in your Phin data.
Step 1: Enabling Lifecycle Insights as an Integration Partner in Phin
- 1.Log in to Phin at the /partners level (where you define your Clients).
- 2.In the left navigation pane, click on Integrations.
- 3.Click on the Phin API tile.
- 4.Click the Generate button. For more details, refer to Phin's documentation: Phin API Quick Start.
Important:
- Copy the Client's Secret when it is generated. You will not be able to access it again.
- Also copy the Partner ID and Client ID.
Step 2: Register the Phin API Credentials in LCI, Match Companies, and Perform the Initial Sync
- 1.Log in to LCI.
- 2.In the left navigation pane, click on Integrations, then click on the Phin tile.
- 3.On the Phin Settings page:
- Check the box to make the integration active.
- Paste in your Partner ID from Phin.
- Paste in your Client ID from Phin.
- Paste in your Client Secret from Phin.
- Click Save Settings.
After saving, you will receive a confirmation message.
Company Matching
- Click on the COMPANY MATCH tab.
- If no companies are listed, click the REFRESH COMPANIES button.
- For each applicable Phin Client Name, match the appropriate LCI Company Name.
- Alternatively, use the Auto-Mapping feature by clicking the map companies button. The system will attempt to match exact or near-exact company names.
- When auto-mapping is complete, matched companies are highlighted in green. Review the mapping to ensure all desired companies are matched. A counter of auto-matched companies is provided at the top of the table.
- Click the Save Automap button to save your selections.
- To remap companies, click the Refresh Companies button before saving.
- By default, when you match, the Integration Enabled? checkbox will be selected, meaning data will be pulled for that company. To turn off integration for a specific company, deselect the checkbox.
- Any changes made on the Company Match page will automatically save.
Step 4: Syncing Data from Phin to LCI
- Data will sync from Phin to LCI once a day during your normal build runs.
- To perform an on-demand sync:
- 1.On the Phin Settings page, click the Sync Now! button. This button is enabled only if:
- The Phin integration is active.
- At least one company is matched with Integration Active selected.
- 2.If you have the Professional Edition or above, you can use Data Sync Manager to initiate a sync. For more information, see the Data Sync Manager article.

The initial sync can take up to 10 minutes. After waiting, you can click More Reports > Phin in the left navigation pane to view your Phin data for an enabled company!
