How to Launch a Continuous Training Campaign

The guide explains how to launch a Continuous Training campaign using the wizard by navigating to the client portal's home screen, selecting relevant company-specific compliance options (remote work, GDPR, PCI, HIPAA) to tailor phishing and training curricula, editing topics before launch, and scheduling automated monthly training starting on the first Monday.

Continuous Training Campaigns Overview

Continuous Training campaigns automate Security Awareness Training, reducing the need for ongoing manual management.

Note: As of 8.12.2025, all campaign management has moved to a unified Campaigns page accessible from the side navigation. Some instructions below may not reflect the latest interface.

Option 1: Launching a Continuous Training Campaign with the Wizard

Step 1: Finding the Continuous Campaign Creator Button

  • Navigate to the home screen of the client portal.
  • Click on Create Continuous Campaigns.

Step 2: Creating a Campaign with the Continuous Campaign Creator

  • Click the Create Continuous Campaigns button to open the creator tool and start the campaign creation process.

  • You will be prompted to select any of the following options that apply to the company:

    • Does this company have employees who work remotely?
    • Do you require GDPR training?
      • GDPR is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy. If the client does business in the EU or EEA, GDPR compliance and training are required.
    • Does this company accept credit cards?
      • This relates to PCI training.
    • Does this company require HIPAA training?
      • HIPAA is a federal law protecting sensitive patient health information. If your client handles such information, HIPAA compliance and training are required.
  • Your answers build a unique profile for the campaign and client. You can create multiple campaigns with different answers for targeted training and phishing.

  • After making selections, you will see the curriculum chosen for both Phishing and Training based on your answers.

Important Note: You can edit topics for both phishing and training until the campaign launches. After launch, training topics are locked; phishing campaigns remain editable.

  • Click Next to proceed to the scheduling page.

Scheduling

  • Training is set to monthly on the 1st Monday by default.
  • You can configure the schedule for phishing (frequency, send time, start date).
  • The earliest a campaign can be scheduled is 24 hours in advance by adjusting the "Send first training on" date.
  • All-at-once delivery is only available for fixed-length campaigns.

For instructions on changing sending parameters, refer to the relevant documentation.

  • The scheduler's last field is when the campaign begins looking for the sending parameter (e.g., "once a month on the 1st Monday at 8 AM, starting on 4/30/2025").
  • Active campaigns cannot be paused; to stop training, delete the campaign and create a new one when ready to resume.
  • Once the schedule is set, click Submit.

Important Note: Topics like HIPAA or GDPR have a limited number of modules. Over time, users may receive repeated modules to reinforce knowledge.

Option 2: Launching a Continuous Training Campaign from the Training Campaigns Menu

This method provides more control and is similar to launching other campaign types.

Step 1: Navigate to the Training Campaigns Menu

  • From the sidebar, click Training then Campaigns.
  • Click the blue button at the top to enter the Training Campaign Creator.

Step 2: Configure the Continuous Training Campaign

  • In the creator, select the Continuous Campaign Type option.
  • Enter the campaign name and description.
  • Choose the audience for the campaign.

Step 3: Choosing the Curriculum

  • Manually select curriculum topics for your audience.
  • Continuous Training Campaigns run continuously with a finite set of courses. Once all courses in a topic are used, the campaign will reuse courses.
  • After selecting topics, click Next or go to the Schedule step.

Step 4: Scheduling and Confirmation

  • Schedule the course as you would for a standard fixed training campaign.
  • Review your settings on the finalize page.
  • By default, new users do not receive previous courses. To assign all previous courses to new users, enable the checkbox at the bottom of the page (note: this may result in a large volume of initial training for long-running campaigns).
  • Enabling training catch-up also assigns missing training to active users from the campaign's start date on the next scheduled date.
  • When ready, click Launch. The campaign will run at the selected frequency until cancelled.
