July 2025 Release Notes 3.28
The July 2025 Release Notes 3.28 introduce enhanced Google User Sync features including manual saving of sync settings, user status visibility, and failure notifications; updated User Management with new columns for sync source and status, active user count, and improved welcome email indicators; the ability to reset welcome email templates to default for partners and admins; plus various general improvements and bug fixes.
Featuring Google User Sync and User Management improvements, along with a lot of behind the scenes improvements and bug fixes.
Google User Sync Improvements
We've made several enhancements to make Google User Sync easier to use and more reliable:
Better Control Over Sync Settings
- You now need to manually save your group and organizational unit selections before they take effect. This gives you more control and prevents accidental changes to your sync configuration.
Enhanced Visibility
- User status (Active/Suspended) from Google Workspace is now displayed directly in the sync table, so you can see the exact status of each user.
- The integration will now send you an email notification if a sync fails (only on the first failure), alerting you to permission issues or if the admin who set up the integration has been removed from your Google tenant.
User Management Updates
The User Management page has been updated with helpful new information:
- New "Sync Source" column - See at a glance which integration (Azure or Google) each user came from, with recognizable icons for easy identification.
- "Phin Status" column - The former "Status" column has been renamed to "Phin Status" for clarity.
- Active User Count - View your active user count in the top right corner of the page.
- Quick access button - A new Google Sync button has been added to take you directly to the Google User Sync integration.
- Improved "Welcomed" column - Users who haven't received a welcome email now show a dash (—) instead of blank space.
Welcome Email Template Management
You can now reset your customized welcome email templates back to the default:
- Partners can reset their partner-level welcome email template
- Company admins can reset their company-level welcome email template
A confirmation modal will appear to ensure you want to proceed, as the action cannot be undone.
General Improvements & Bug Fixes 🐞
Azure User Sync
- Fixed an issue where adding new users to an existing Azure group would fail to create those users in Phin, even when delta links were reset. New users added to synced groups will now be properly tracked and created.
- Improved logging for Azure user sync to better identify when users have valid licenses that are disabled, making troubleshooting faster and easier.
Phishing Campaigns
- Fixed an issue that prevented creating phishing campaigns in certain scenarios, particularly when creating a template and immediately launching a campaign from it, or editing a template right after creation.
- Resolved an edge case where fixed-length training campaigns could attempt to assign more modules than exist in the curriculum, which prevented users from completing courses and caused reporting issues.
- Fixed technical issues with phishing template retrieval that could affect campaign functionality.
User Interface
- Fixed a layout issue where the side navigation would render on top of content instead of properly adjusting the main content area.
- Corrected a display issue with the "Cancel Free Trial" button to show it properly.
- Removed confusing notification indicators on the integrations page that appeared to highlight ConnectWise Billing and Report a Phish tiles without clear purpose.
